Customer Advisory: Workspot Desktop Agent version 2.4.6 fails to complete upgrade (March 11, 2020)

A subset of desktops in persistent pools are showing an Error status in Control.


The Workspot Desktop Agent automatic upgrade to version 2.4.6 fails to complete and cannot roll back to version 2.4.5. This causes the Agent to go offline and Control to report an Error status.

Assigned persistent desktops with this Error status continue to function normally for end users; however, the desktop cannot be managed through Control and performance and usage data is not available.

Unassigned persistent desktop with this Error status will not be available for assignment, thereby reducing the number of available desktops.

Workspot is currently investigating the cause of the failed upgrades and working to resolve the issue. While we investigate, the Workspot Desktop Agent will not automatically upgrade to 2.4.6; all other Agents will remain at version 2.4.5.


Customers can continue to provision new persistent or non-persistent desktop pools using images with Agent version 2.4.5. In addition, there are no known issues if Agent version 2.4.6 is already installed and running.

If an unassigned desktop is showing the Error status, delete the desktop and the replacement desktop should come up in with a Ready status.
