End of Functionality: Workspot Control—Content Repository
Effected Product(s): Workspot Control—Content Repository
Effective Release: Control R13
Effective Date: October 1, 2019
Effected Platforms: All
Last year, in October, 2018, Workspot announced the end of support for the “Content Repository” feature, including its CIFS and File features.
Workspot is now announcing the end of functionality for the “Content Repository” feature (including CIFS and File features). Starting with the release of expected around October 1, 2019, the Content Repository feature will no longer function.
If you rely upon the Content Repository feature, you have two options:
- Replace the content repository feature with an alternative. For example, by publishing Windows File Explorer as an app.
- End your use of Workspot for the affected desktops/apps by October 1, 2019.
Q: Who will this affect?
A: A small number of existing customers. Recent customers have expressed little interest in this feature.
Q: What happens if I have Content Repository applications definitions deployed on clients?
A: The published Content Repositories will no longer appear in the Clients.
Q: Why is this happening now?
A: Few customers are using this feature, but many customers are pressing us for other features, making continued support impractical.
