Workspot Control Release R4 (July 28, 2017)

Donald Van Patten -

  • Location detection configuration: in Setup, Settings, admins will have the ability to specify up to 3 internal sites that Workspot clients will use to determine if the client is connecting to resources via the corporate LAN or from a public network. This feature will be fully implemented when the following clients are released: Windows 2.3, Mac 2.4, iOS 3.3 and Android 2.9 client.
  • When deploying Azure Pools, the storage type for pools is now Premium storage, the Standard storage option has been removed. This enhances performance of VMs.
  • When managing the RD Pools, sessions, IT admins can now send a message to the logged-on user as well as end sessions.
  • UI Change:
      • For Azure the names of the VMs for VDI and RD Pools have changed. The new names are:
        • RD Pools:
        • Power RDS to Business App VM
        • Premium RDS to Premium App VM
        • VDI Pools:
        • Business VM (4 CPUs, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD) to Business VM (2 CPUs, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD)
        • Power VM (2 CPUs, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD) to Power VM (4 CPUs, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD)
  • New Pools created with this release will require Agent 2.1 or higher. Existing Pools with older agents will continue to operate. Workspot recommends updating all Pools running older versions of the Agent to Agent 2.1.
